Karikari Kitefishing Klassic

Rules

|
- All teams must be land based.
- Lines can be taken out by kite only (1 line only per kite assembly, 1 kite assembly per team).
- The number of hooks will not exceed 10 per line.
- Lines must be retreived intact from the point of launching & to the device from which they were deployed.
- Fishing areas will be advised at briefing.
- The first team with their equipment in an area on the beach will have precedence
- Should it appear that lines or kites may contact or tangle the team without precedence must remove their gear.
- Sharks and stingrays will not be eligible for the contest.
- All fish weighed during the contest will remain the property of each team.
- The contest referees decision will determine the final results.
- Should bad weather or other circumstances prevail changes may be made to fishing times and/or area.
- Fishing times will be from 6am to 6pm, except Saturday 6am to 5.30pm.
- The weigh station closes 1 hr after end of fishing.
- A Team Member must be in the Weighing Area with their catch before the weigh station closes.
- No more than 3 fish from each listed category per day per team will be allowed for weighing.
- There is a maximum of 4 people per team.
- It is the teams responsibility to ensure all fishing is in accordance with MAF laws and regulations.
- No alternative fishing equipment (eg. torpedoes, kontikis or surf casting rods) is to be in the possession of teams during fishing times.
- To qualify for the Lucky Draw prizes a team must be represented by one team member at the draw.
- A minimum of 300 metres between each competing team on all fishing beaches.
- Gear must not impede traffic on the beach.
