Rules

Whatuwhiwhi Top Ten Holiday Park
  1. All teams must be land based.
  2. Lines can be taken out by kite only (1 line only per kite assembly, 1 kite assembly per team).
  3. The number of hooks will not exceed 10 per line.
  4. Lines must be retreived intact from the point of launching & to the device from which they were deployed.
  5. Fishing areas will be advised at briefing.
  6. The first team with their equipment in an area on the beach will have precedence
  7. Should it appear that lines or kites may contact or tangle the team without precedence must remove their gear.
  8. Sharks and stingrays will not be eligible for the contest.
  9. All fish weighed during the contest will remain the property of each team.
  10. The contest referees decision will determine the final results.
  11. Should bad weather or other circumstances prevail changes may be made to fishing times and/or area.
  12. Fishing times will be between 6am and 6pm, except Saturday 6am to 5.30pm.
  13. The weigh station closes 1 hr after end of fishing.
  14. A Team Member must be in the Weighing Area with their catch before the weigh station closes.
  15. No more than 3 fish from each listed category per day per team will be allowed for weighing.
  16. There is a maximum of 4 people per team.
  17. It is the teams responsibility to ensure all fishing is in accordance with MAF laws and regulations.
  18. No alternative fishing equipment (eg. torpedoes, kontikis or surf casting rods) is to be in the possession of teams during fishing times.
  19. To qualify for the Lucky Draw prizes a team must be represented by one team member at the draw.
  20. A minimum of 300 metres between each competing team on all fishing beaches.
  21. Gear must not impede traffic on the beach.
